Quinte Computer Services Ltd. (referred to as QCS for this Privacy Policy) is committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of all visitors to quintecomputerservices.com and/or solentrisbusinesssoftware.com and/or all of its customers that use its software solutions.

We have been providing confidential, secure services since 1974 to clients located worldwide.

Consent to Collection and Use of Personal Information

QCS does not collect personal information from visitors to quintecomputerservices.com and/or solentrisbusinesssoftware.com. QCS does log the number of visits and/or type of access to our web sites for the purposes of determining load volumes on our telecommunications equipment and computer hardware. This information is stored on secured servers and is only accessible by authorized QCS personnel.

For our customers, QCS uses your personal information only for the following specific purposes. Personal and user information is collected only from our customers for the purpose of allowing communication between QCS and its customers and/or The Hive subscribers for the purposes of communicating matters pertaining to the usage of any of our web sites and/or applications and/or software solutions and to support your customer relationship with QCS specifically for the following reasons:

  • To ensure that we are able to communicate effectively with you and your organization regarding your usage of our software solutions, discuss system enhancements, review custom-written software, develop applications and/or software per your requirements, to communicate system notices, payment issues, and other relevant information that constitutes a normal customer relationship.
  • To deliver services to your organization that you request or purchase.
  • To alert you to product upgrades, updated information and other new services from QCS.

You can opt-out of receiving further contact from QCS regarding our software solutions by terminating your usage of all QCS software solutions and contacting QCS in writing to notify QCS of your request to be removed from any and all communications made directly and solely by QCS.

Your use of QCS software solutions constitutes your consent to the collection of personal information about you for the purposes of and in accordance with this Privacy Statement. QCS will from time to time update this privacy statement. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Statement. The continued use by you of our software applications shall be deemed acceptance of and agreement to all such changes. QCS reserves the right to have software-specific privacy statements which will be displayed in the footer of each of the specific software applications. Otherwise this Privacy Statement will apply.

Access to Personal Information

We do not access or reveal any information about your organization, your organization’s data, your site name or your members to any other person without your previous consent. Any and all personal information always remains confidential. We will access your system and/or QCS software application only at the request of your authorized users, and only in order to correct a problem, enhance the software application or in special circumstances as directed by your authorized user. Your organization is responsible for determining and communicating to QCS any and all of your authorized users. QCS cannot be held responsible for organizations that do not manage their authorized users and communications with QCS properly.

QCS will not disclose your personal information to any outside organization for its use in marketing without your consent.

We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including technical support for hardware and software issues. We will only provide those companies the information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

New technologies are emerging on the Internet that help us to ensure the security of your data and also to secure the transmission of your data. At QCS, for some of our software applications, we may use a single expiring (non-permanent) cookie to enhance our Document Library and data file transfer download security. This cookie ensures that you have authorization to download files from The Hive’s document library and other QCS applications. Our use of this technology does not mean that we automatically know any information about you.

QCS may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on QCS or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of QCS and its Web sites, equipment and facilities, or (c) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of QCS employees, users of QCS products or services, or members of the public.

Your information may be stored and processed in Canada or any other country in which QCS or its affiliates, subsidiaries or agents maintain facilities, and by using this site, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country.
Our Customers usage of QCS Software Solutions.

QCS customers that use our software may collect personal information from visitors and/or their customers of their respective businesses and/or organizations. QCS cannot be held responsible for our customer’s usage of our software solutions and/or their privacy policies. QCS’ privacy policy is restricted ONLY to QCS’ collection, storage and usage of personal information that QCS solely gathers. QCS’ privacy policy does not extend, apply or provide any umbrella coverage to our customer’s usage of our software in any manner.

QCS reminds users that voluntarily disclosed information online in discussion areas or other public areas of our Websites can be collected and used by third parties and may result in unsolicited messages from third parties. Unfortunately, such activities are beyond the control of QCS.
Security of your Personal Information

QCS is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. For example, we store the personal information you provide in computer servers with limited access. When we transmit sensitive information over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.
Communications with 3rd Party Solutions Providers.

Occasionally QCS is asked by its customers to work with a 3rd party solutions provider to assist with the installation and/or configuration and/or management of a 3rd party developed solution. QCS will only work with a 3rd party solution provider under the following circumstances:

  • That the customer has notified QCS and authorized QCS to work with the 3rd party solution provider.
  • That the 3rd party solution provider agrees to assume all responsibility for any legal and/or privacy related matters pertaining to their solution.
  • That the 3rd party solution provider’s solution does not impact or violate QCS’ current Privacy Policy commitments to any of QCS’ other customers.
  • That the 3rd party solution provider will not be permitted into QCS’ facility unless agreed to by QCS and supervised by an authorized QCS employee.
  • That the 3rd party solution provider agrees to be bound by the restrictions set out by QCS and its privacy policies.

Removal of Personal Information

You must contact us in writing if you no longer want your information to be kept by us. If circumstances require us to keep it longer than that, we will notify you.
